Gotham GAC 2 Ultra Pro is the younger sibling of the Starquad Ultra Pro. These two Ultra Pros share the same characteristics of having individual conductor fully shielding, thus both cables exhibit extraordinary quietness with huge, open soundstage. GAC 2 Ultra Pro comes with 2 conductors instead of the 4 in Starquad Ultra Pro, hence it is the ideal Ultra Pro cable lineup from Gotham for used in single ended RCA. Some may be wanting to use the Starquad Ultra Pro for RCA application by combining 2 conductors into 1, but in our evaluation, there is no immediate and noticeable audible advantage in doing so when the lower priced GAC-2 Ultra Pro can work admirably too.
KLE Innovations RCA plugs have been making appearances in many of our cable upgrades available for customers since some time back. Sceptism of the plugs for being light-weight and plasticky were often allayed after using them because they sounded so well. Their outlook is just deceiving to think they could not perform. Perfect Harmony uses the highest spec possible of their Pure Silver/Copper Alloy with over 105% IACS conductivity rating on both the signal and ground pin. This is the main difference of silver grade between the Pure Harmony and Absolute Harmony, and is significant enough for Perfect Harmony to be the favourite plug for many audiophiles over other prestigious brands.
For an RCA plug to render the complexity of harmonics and timbre so effortlessly like the Perfect Harmony does, the spaciousness and air of GAC-2 Ultra Pro adds in the flair as a pair of RCA interconnects together. The UPAB is bound to give endless indulgence of excellent imaging and accuracy in the enveloping and wide soundstaging. For turntable, preamps and amps without balanced connection, this is almost as close as to getting a low noise-floor and highly dynamic balanced sound through this single-ended connection.
The high purity in metallurgy used here – copper and silver – will sound best on at least 20 hours of breaking in, but should be immediately apparent in improvement on first use.
Meticulously hand sleeved with cyan PET and PP cotton for both strength and flexibility to match the cyan markings of the KLE logo on the plug representing the Absolute Harmony model (every model has different colour of the logo), each cable is hand-crafted in Singapore with highest quality and aesthetic in mind.
