Our next line up of Gotham cables in the digital series come in the form of the S/PDIF coaxial after various enquiries for such cable.
Gotham GAC-1 S/PDIF employs superior quality in the mandatory 75-ohm impedance characteristic cable with the use of fine silver-plated copper in both the conductors and the shield. Thick aluminium foil forms the 1st of the 2 layers of the shieldings, ensuring the best possible rejection of noise, prevention of signal loss caused by the ‘skin effects’.
The result is a clean and pure digital audio signal in transportation. S/PDIF in coax form is better over Toslink with a lower jitter.
Terminated with Switchcraft RCA, Made in USA.
Additional choice of termination includes the Neutrik BNC plug. Both ends of BNC termination will ensure absolute true 75 ohm of impedance in connection.
We do not use other China-made plugs with plastic parts even though they may be a subsidiary brand of a bigger brand. Quality of Switchcraft RCA made from USA is alot more solid and higher quality in sound as well. BNC is terminated with authentic, solid Neutrik BNC connectors – excellent for your digital S/PDIF or clocking needs
