Hot on the heels of Gotham cable lineup, another excellent starquad cable is this GAC-4/1!
Low capacitance with double shielding for superior noise rejection, this tonearm cable will provide extraordinary quiet signal straight form your turntable to your phono stage.
Microphone cables are very appropriate for construction of tonearm cables because they are built to handle very low signal levels in microphone, typically at 1-10mV. This covers the same range of voltages which most turntable cartridges will output, from 1-6mV (MC carts at the lower range, MM carts as the higher range). Microphone cables are also built with multiple shieldings most of the time for efficient noise reduction and rejection of the RF and EMI. Both microphone and phono levels follow the same principle – their low levels need to be amplified to line levels, hence low capacitance between the core and shield plus the traits above are important.
Together with Gotham GAC-4/1 “double Reussen shielding”, the signal loss was reduced by 50% and “due to the offset of the incoming RF-signal by the way the 4 conductors are twisted, the RF-rejection is over 130dB (25 kHz).”

Switchcraft RCA connectors (made in USA) are our favourite connectors to be used in our cables for their neutrality and accurate sound. Please note we do not use China-made OEM brands or subsidiary brands of bigger brands (which is still make in China) for RCA connectors. They are not worth the money and performance as they will become the weakest link in the cable.
Upgrade to Australia KLE Innovations Pure Harmony RCA connectors for another superior leap in quality. The pure silver in their contacts improves the resolution and dynamics of the sound further.
Ground lug is a spade that is gold-plated with anti-slip grooves on it for a more secure contact for grounding. The cable is a 17awg silver-plated copper.
Viborg female 5-pin DIN connector features 24k gold-plating contacts with Teflon insulation.
