Description
Serene is a preamplifier from HoloAudio. Serene adopts a fully balanced structure. The left and right channels are completely separated to form a fully balanced structure. Each channel has independent amplification modules to complete the buffering and amplification functions.
This design is able to solve the shortcomings of transistors, so that its tone can exceed the limits of traditional transistors. It also has both the advantages of tubes and transistors. And the use of a large number of transistors makes the linearity of the amplifier superior in every way. The volume control of the Serene is a fully balanced stepping device controlled by a relay. Each step is 1 dB volume. The advantage is that the noise is minimal, and it can be precisely controlled, even at a low volume the left and right channel will not be biased.
Features:
- The Serene features a completely balanced design with 4 sets of channels, where each left and right channel is fully discrete. Each channel is equipped with two separate amplification modules to handle buffering and amplification functions, resulting in a total of 8 amplification modules.
- The 8 amplification modules in the Serene are designed to be fully discrete, addressing the inherent shortcomings of transistors through innovative structural design and implementation. This design allows the tone to surpass the limitations of traditional transistors by utilizing paired transistors to achieve superior linearity, combining the benefits of both electron tubes and transistors.
- Serene boasts a power supply that is completely independent from the secondary transformer, creating a dual mono amplifier configuration within the chassis. This setup enables a channel separation performance of over 130dB, ensuring a perfectly reproduced sound field.
- The volume control in the Serene is a fully balanced stepping device that is relay-controlled. The relays used are of the highest quality, featuring Silver Palladium (AgPd) Gold Plated contacts. With a total of 84 steps, each step representing 1dB volume adjustment, the volume control ranges from -78dB to +6dB. This design ensures ultra-low noise and precise control at low volumes, preventing any imbalance between the left and right channels. The matching accuracy of the left and right channels across all volume levels is within +/-0.1dB.
